Headteacher

Mrs Cassie Pamplin is the new headteacher of our school.  Her aim is to inspire the staff and children to be the best that they can be.  She is dedicated to building on the strengths of this wonderful school.  She is passionate about education and wants to provide the best education for the children of Portreath School.

Mrs Pamplin has been teaching in Cornwall for eighteen years . She lives with husband, son and their cat, Tia. Reading and sharing stories is a great love of hers. She loves to dance and enjoys running to keep fit.

Teaching Staff

 

Mrs Sam Forsdick - Maple Tree Class

Mrs Forsdick teaches Maple Tree Class, a Reception year 1 mixed class. She has taught at Portreath School and enjoys being part of our small community.

She has a love of IT, books and music which she put to good effect in our school productions.

She has two daughters who share her love of animals and help look after their array of pets!

Mrs Jane Stevens - Rowan Tree Class

Mrs Stevens has been teaching since leaving university, having taught in Cornwall for many years and abroad, in America and Spain, where she enjoyed the local cultural traditions.

Mrs Stevens loves anything to do with the outdoors and especially enjoys the creative arts. In her spare time she loves walking her dog, Rosie along the Cornish beaches and cliffs and enjoys baking and cooking.

Mrs Stevens currently teaches Rowan Tree Class, a mixed age class of Year 1 and Year 2 children, which she enjoys immensely.

Mrs Emma Allen - Sycamore Tree Class

Having escaped an early and misdirected career in the finance sector, Mrs Allen currently teaches Sycamore Tree Class. She feels privileged that she has had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles within education, both within Portreath School and working for Cornwall Learning. She loves working and learning with others, whether it is with an individual pupil, whole classes or with adults. A passion for inclusion and overcoming barriers to learning have led her to her current role as Special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCo).

When not working in school with children Mrs Allen is usually surrounded by animals instead and currently gives a home to 4 horses and 3 ponies – only some of which are hers! She loves music, reading and spending time with friends and family.

 

Mrs Michelle Price - Oak Tree Class

Mrs Price teaches in Oak Tree Class.

Mrs Price moved from her home town in Cardiff over the summer holidays to live in Cornwall.

She has a love of art work and is currently making Pebble Art pictures.

Miss Lucie Clarke - Cherry Tree Class

Miss Clarke thoroughly enjoys teaching the older children in the school in Cherry Tree Class. She is also assistant headteacher at our school - a role which she particularly enjoys as it means that she gets to spend time with children from all the classes.

When not busy with school work Miss Clarke loves to get out and about, enjoyng everything to do with Cornwall and its wonderful environment. Beaching, walking and gardening top the list of outdoor hobbies but Miss Clarke is also a keen member of two local choirs and loves to be involved in the many singing opportunites countywide.

Miss Clarke lives with her partner, two children and a wild (but loveable) dog called Ralphie.

Mrs Sharon Wickett- Cherry Tree Class

Mrs Wickett teaches Cherry Tree Class one day a week.  She is an experienced teacher who is delighted to now be part of the team at Portreath.

She lives with her husband and has two grown up children and a few chickens.  When she is not teaching she enjoys doing yoga, zumba, dancing, walking in the woods and baking and eating her favourite cake, coffee and walnut!

Mrs Claudine Jones- Faraway Tree Classroom

Mrs Jones is with us for four mornings a week.  She teaches Year 1 and Year 4 maths and works with a group on Year 3 children during Literacy.

 

School Secretary

Mrs Caroline Jones is the new School Secretary.  Mrs Jones has worked in Administration in the Education Sector for 7 years in both Secondary and Special Educational Schools and re-located from Wolverhampton with her young daughter three years ago.

When not working in school Mrs Jones enjoys spending time with friends and been outdoors in Cornwall with her daughter who is a member of several surf clubs.

Miss Rundle-

Miss Rundle enjoys wild adventures in the outdoors with her daughter, Eleanor, and her partner, Paul; whether that be in the kayak paddling the coastlines of Cornwall or exploring the countryside.  She is currently studying towards her BA Hons in 'Professional Practice' and will be completing her level 3 Forest School this year.
