Remembrance

On Sunday some of our children were involved in the Remembrance Parade. I was extremely proud of them. A special well done to Mawgan, Lara, Daisy and Lola who took part in delivering the service and to Barnaby for reading out his poem. The church was decorated with poems mounted on medals created by Oak Class. Oak Class also created poppies made from bottles, which you can see on the anchor in the village. Cherry Tree Class walked down to the memorial today and laid the poppy stones that they had created. I have had so many positive comments about the children at the service and the school’s involvement. Below is a message from our chair of governors:

I would like to say thank you to all the children who attended the Remembrance Parade in the village on Sunday.  It meant a great deal to older Portreath Villagers to see these youngsters taking part in this event.
I was so very proud to hear how well they took part in the actual service and many people commented on their knowledge of this very special event and why it takes place.  For this I must thank the staff of the school and the parents of these children who try to guide them through these events.
Once again thank you all very much.
Liz Gerrish

Thanks to all the children who joined us.
