Some of our children represented the Portreath Surf Life Saving Club just before Easter. Thank you to Danny, Portreath SLSC Nipper Manger, for the photograph and following report:
On the 24/25th of March 14 Children from the school travelled up to Cardiff international swimming pool to take part in national Surf Lifesaving Stillwater Championships, competing against clubs from all round the country. The children did a fantastic job, for some it was the first time they have ever seen a 50m pool let alone swam in one. Over the 2 days they had a great time and for many of them set new personal best times in the races. At the end of the Championships Portreath SLSC came 9th overall climbing 5 places on last year’s competition. Big Well done to 4 of the children who came away with National medals. Maisy & Lucy 3rd place in the U8s board rescue Harry & Archie who came 2nd as part of the 8-10 years board relay team Archie Wiles who along with his partner won the National U10s board rescue. Well done to all the children that raced you did your club & school proud!
