Mrs Cassie Pamplin is the headteacher of our school.  Her aim is to inspire the staff and children to be the best that they can be.  She is dedicated to building on the strengths of this wonderful school.  She is passionate about education and wants to provide the best education for the children of Portreath School.

Mrs Pamplin has been teaching in Cornwall for over 20 years . She lives with husband, son and they have a cat called Tia and a dog called Buckley. Reading and sharing stories is a great love of hers. She loves to dance and long dog walks to keep fit.

Teaching Staff

Mrs Sam Forsdick - Maple Tree Class

Mrs Forsdick teaches Maple Tree Class, a Reception year 1 mixed class. She has taught at Portreath School for many years and enjoys being part of our small community.

She has a love of IT, books and music which she put to good effect in our school productions.

She has two daughters who share her love of animals and help look after their array of pets!

Mrs Jane Stevens - Rowan Tree Class

Mrs Stevens has been teaching since leaving university, having taught in Cornwall for many years and abroad, in America and Spain, where she enjoyed the local cultural traditions.

Mrs Stevens loves anything to do with the outdoors and especially enjoys the creative arts. In her spare time she loves walking her dog, Rosie along the Cornish beaches and cliffs and enjoys baking and cooking.

Mrs Stevens currently teaches Rowan Tree Class, a mixed age class of Year 1 and Year 2 children, which she enjoys immensely.

Miss Emily Tonkin - Sycamore Tree Class

Miss Tonkin joined us in September 2020 as a newly qualified teacher.

Michelle Price - Oak Tree Class

Mrs Price teaches in Oak Tree Class.

Mrs Price moved from her home town in Cardiff to live in Cornwall.

She has a love of art work and is currently making Pebble Art pictures.

Mrs Claudine Jones

Mrs Jones teaches part time in Oak Class.  She lives with her husband, two girls and their dog, Dougie.

Miss Lucie Clarke - Cherry Tree Class

Miss Clarke thoroughly enjoys teaching the older children in the school in Cherry Tree Class. She is also assistant headteacher at our school - a role which she particularly enjoys as it means that she gets to spend time with children from all the classes.

When not busy with school work Miss Clarke loves to get out and about, enjoyng everything to do with Cornwall and its wonderful environment. Beaching, walking and gardening top the list of outdoor hobbies but Miss Clarke is also a keen member of two local choirs and loves to be involved in the many singing opportunites countywide.

Miss Clarke lives with her partner, two children and a wild (but loveable) dog called Ralphie.

Mrs Sharon Wickett- Cherry Tree Class/Oak Tree Class

Mrs Wickett teaches Cherry Tree Class one day a week.  She is an experienced teacher who is delighted to now be part of the team at Portreath.  She is currently covering Mrs Price in Oak Class whilst she is on maternity leave.

She lives with her husband and has two grown up children and a few chickens.  When she is not teaching she enjoys doing yoga, zumba, dancing, walking in the woods and baking and eating her favourite cake, coffee and walnut!

School Secretary

Mrs Caroline Jones

Mrs Caroline Jones is the School Secretary.  Mrs Jones has worked in Administration in the Education Sector for 10 years in both Secondary and Special Educational Schools and re-located from Wolverhampton with her young daughter six years ago.

When not working in school Mrs Jones enjoys spending time with friends and been outdoors in Cornwall with her daughter who is a member of several surf clubs.

Mrs Tracey Taylor

Mrs Taylor is the school secretary on a Friday.  She also works at Weeth School.

Claire Rundle - Outdoor Learning

Miss Rundle enjoys wild adventures in the outdoors with her daughter, Eleanor, and her partner, Paul; whether that be in the kayak paddling the coastlines of Cornwall or exploring the countryside.
