The after school clubs started this week the children enjoyed taking part in the different clubs. Let Mrs Jones know if your child is interested in joining one. If your child receives pupil premium funding they may attend one club a week for free.
Five of our Year Six children attended sessions at The Writers Block earlier this year. Some of their work has now been published. They each have a copy of the book and we have one here in school. Ellie and Freddie went along to the presentation evening. They were very brave and read out their pieces. Well done to you all.
This week the children have been taking part in a variety of workshops linked to promoting a healthy mind, body and Earth. These have included, Pilates, Cookery, Body Image, Life Saving, Mental Wellbeing, Sailing and a variety of different sports. The children have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing new things and learning about how to have a healthy lifestyle. I would like to say a huge, heartfelt thankyou to all of the parents and staff who gave up their time and ran a workshop, the children have gained so much from all of your expertise. Also a big thankyou to Tesco who donated fruit for Lucy Jose to make fruit salad with the children. It’s been a great week! Many thanks, Mrs Price
On Tuesday 19th March an excited group of year 1 and 2 children set off on a coach to the Falmouth Maritime museum. This educational visit was part of our class topic on Wreck and Rescue. It was such an enjoyable day. The children had learnt about Henry Trengrouse and his inventions to improve sea rescues, but the activities and workshops put on by the museum certainly deepened their understanding and experience. Thank you very much to the Cornwall Heritage Trust for giving us a grant for the cost of the coach.
The children wrote reports about the visit, here is Sophia’s:
Eight enthusiastic players headed to Pool Academy on Tuesday to represent the School in a “High 5” netball tournament. Throughout the games the players grew in confidence and showed great team spirt towards each other. Well done everyone! A big thank you to Lynsey Kerr for supporting and helping out on the side line Mrs Doble
A massive well done to the boys at the football tournament yesterday! Not losing a single game leading up to the final. But unfortunately lost 1-0 in the nail biting final against Treloweth. Well-deserved runners up and superb attitude and determination by the whole team! A really successful day. Well done boys!
